What is a “Pet Nat”
Pétillant naturel translates from French to “natural sparkling,” (known as method ancestral).. It has been taken under the wing of the natural wine movement as its signature sparkler. Generally speaking, pet-nat wines are more lightly frothy than fully effervescent. This is arguably the oldest method of sparkling wine production. A Single fermentation starting in barrel then finishing in bottle is what makes a slight spritz and delicate bubbles.
